LEE KUAN YEW

FATHER OF A NATION

Lee Kuan Yew was born on 16 September 1923.

He passed away due to pneumonia at 3.18 am on 23 March 2015.

He was 91 years old at his time of death.

 

He served as MP for Tanjong Pagar for 59 years from 1955, the longest-serving MP in Singapore so far.

 

He is also the longest-serving Prime Minister of Singapore, serving for 31 years.

 

More than 1.2 million people payed their tributes to Mr Lee at the Parliament House and community tribute sites, as of 28 March.
